The Dance Alive/Elite and Talent Identification Programs promote life tools to prepare young people for adulthood with critical and creative thinking skills, committment and follow through for their responsibilities, leadership initiative, and a passion to excell.
Dance Alive/Elite is a two week summer dance experience for children ages eight to twelve years from the Greater-Chattanooga area. The program culminates in a FREE public performance at UTC Fine Arts Center or Memorial Auditorium. Children selected from this introductory program receive a Talent Identification Program scholarship that provides elementary through professional level training in classical ballet, modern, and jazz.
Alumni of these programs have received full tuition scholarships to The Ailey School Summer Intensive, the New York Joffrey School, North Carolina Dance Theater & American Ballet Theater Summer Programs, and Boston Ballet's Summer Intensive.
While the organization does not expect all participants to pursue dance as a career, each TIP scholar exits the program as a self disciplined andself motivated individual.
These programs are made possible in part by: Night To Remember, Community Foundation, Department of Chattanooga, Parks & Recreation, Tennessee Arts Commission, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, First Tennessee Bank, George R.
